6 miles - New Route

I headed to the gym after work. Since it was 60+ degrees, I decided to head outside from the downtown gym, and take a run down by the river. Beautiful day, and nice to have some new scenery. I headed out fairly easy for the first mile, and then picked it up for the next 4 miles, averaging somewhere around a 7:15 pace. With a mile cool-down, total time of under 47 minutes. Not a bad day.

I am noticing that I have a little trouble actually running fast. Having run so many longer runs at a slower pace, I am having trouble getting the legs to move fast enough to really max out my heart rate (or even get it to the 170's). I'm working on it, as mixing in those fast runs really makes me feel better.
